ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Professional Ballet School opened in
October, 1987. PBS offers highest quality classical Ballet , Jazz,
Contemporary, Hip-Hop and Pilates training in a nurturing environment
to students of all ages. The school's curriculum is structured to
meet the training needs of those seeking a professional career, and
offers the same quality training to those students dancing simply
for enjoyment. Students gain invaluable knowledge and confidence by
studying, rehearsing, and performing with professionals.

Co-founders and Directors, Zoltan and Carmela Zegarelli Peter, bring to
their school a wealth of training, performance and teaching experience.
Both Zoltan and Carmela have worked with numerous international teachers
and choreographers, including Olga Lepechinskaya, Richard Gibson, Ivan
Kramer, Tatiana Grantezeva, Terry Westmoreland, Erik Bruhn, Brian Shaw,
Anatole Vilzak, Jurgen Schneider, Lew Christensen, Helgi Tomasson,
Patricia Neary, Michael Smuin and Francia Russell, to name a few. The
Peters' teaching technique is based on the Vaganova method.

| Through national auditions, PBS
ballet students have been selected and awarded scholarships to
study at the following professionally affiliated schools:The School
of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, San Francisco Ballet,
Joffrey Ballet, Boston Ballet, Dance Aspen, The Kirov Institute,
Pennsylvania Ballet, Pacific Northwest, Princeton Ballet, North Carolina School of
the Artsand Tisch School of the Arts summer programs. Former studens have gone on to
dance with Ballet Teatro di Colon, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, Atlantic City Ballet,
Company C, Peninsula Ballet Theatre, Savage Jazz Dance, Smuin
Ballets S.F., Ballet San Jose, The Rockettes, ODC, Honolulu Ballet
Theatre, Dance Aspen.
